The break-out session for horticulture and potatoes at the NFU Conference took on a fresh format this year, with the introduction of a comprehensive question and answer session involving some of the leading figures from within the NFU’s horticulture sector.

Under the guidance of session chair Michael Barker, Horticulture and Potatoes Board chair Martin Emmett fielded a series of questions pertaining to his first year as board chair. He was asked about his biggest challenges and the board’s key successes and how the sector can look beyond the increasing pressures for growers, to a future of growth.
