ʼһEducation team's STEMterprise range of resources for primary schools was shortlisted by the judges of the 2022 Bett Awards.

The celebrate technology-based educational solutions. Our resources were a finalist in the ‘Primary – Free Digital Content – App or Open Educational Resources’ category. Other organisations shortlisted for this award include Barclays LifeSkills and BBC Education, so it is a huge achievement to be recognised alongside these and in the running. The award ceremony took place on 23 March at The Brewery in London.

STEMterprise resources

Our STEMterprise resources have been created to give primary school teachers a fun way to weave food and farming into their STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths) curriculum. As part of our project, children work through each stage of setting up a farm shop, including:

  • growing their own crops
  • creating nutritional recipes with British produce
  • using market research
  • budgeting
  • calculating expected profit, and
  • many more practical activities.

Feedback from schools

Feedback from teachers about our STEMterprise resources is always positive. Many have told us how thorough and unique the activities are. School children love the interactive and engaging nature of the project.

Science coordinator at Bedford Drive Primary School Craig Smith said:

“From our very first introduction to Farming STEMterprise, we knew that it would be ideal for our children due to the motivational and inspiring nature of the projects. The free, thorough resources enabled us to easily integrate the projects into our STEM curriculum without increasing workload.”

NFU education manager Jennie Devine said:

“It is brilliant for Farming STEMterprise to be recognised in this way. ʼһis leading the way in providing quality educational resources and being shortlisted by the Bett Awards is a real achievement and validation of the success of the project.”
