works to deliver vital knowledge about food and farming to thousands of British school children.
This funding will go towards continuing and enhancing our already successful projects, such as , and recruiting our brilliant Farmers for Schools ambassadors.
It will mean we can reach more schools with our food and farming messages. This includes a new piece of work we're doing in collaboration with the University of Manchester, the Engineering Educates: Farmvention challenge.
NFU President Minette Batters said: “We’d like to thank NFU Mutual for the generous donation to our education programme. This will go towards the fantastic projects that so many students across the country have taken advantage of, including , Farmers for Schools and our live lessons.
“More than half a million children have benefited from at least one lesson with NFU Education in the past two years. This money will allow even more students to learn important messages about food, farming and nutrition through STEM (science, technology, engineering and maths) teaching resources.
“The work that NFU Education does is so important in teaching the next generation about where their food comes from, and the popularity of our projects show the appetite to learn more.”
