Lucia Zitti

NFU chief international trade adviser

Lucia joined the NFU in 2012 as an economist. Lucia leads the international trade team, developing and delivering the NFU’s policy position on international trade.

This involves oversight and engagement on all trade matters affecting UK farming, from trade negotiations to biosecurity at the border, to engaging with international partners and the UK’s network of agri-food counsellors, embassy staff, and overseas embassy officials based in the UK.

Lucia grew up in Italy and holds a Master’s degree in international economics and management and a degree in regional economics.

She spent seven years working in Brussels in various roles, including at the European organisation Copa-Cogeca, representing European farmers’ unions and cooperatives.
