Defra has confirmed that the current regulations have now been amended to clarify that businesses (including farms) can sell or supply natural Christmas trees during the national lockdown direct to the public, and will no longer be subject to click and collect only. has been updated to reflect this change. Defra has stated that all non-essential retail will be permitted to open again from 2 December.
This is welcome news for farmers and growers across the country and follows the NFU and industry raising concerns over the impact of November’s lockdown restrictions on Christmas tree sales to members' businesses.
